If you do not get this menu, and the original problem reoccurs, you may have been too late in press the key F8. Ensure the computer is OFF and try again. If you don't get this menu, and the computer stops very soon after starting, try goto the bios setup and resetting the BIOS on your computer by default and then restart the computer and press F8 again: in the Windows Advanced Options menu choose Last Known Good Configuration, and press Enter. a) The next screen may ask you to "select the operating system to start" if you have more that one. Normally only Windows XP will be listed, so just press Enter . b) Windows will now attempt to restart using the registry information that was saved during the last shutdown If doesn't work: restart the computer and and press F8 many times

First check that the first boot device in your system BIOS is set to the CD-ROM Drive. To find out how to access the BIOS see your motherboard manual or the manufacturer of your Computer (The system bios can usually be entered on boot, usually by pressing the F1, F2, F8, F10 or DEL key. Make sure you save the settings before exiting) b) insert your Windows XP Professional CD and reboot you computer. Press "ENTER" to save yourself a 15 second wait. Boot will recognize that the XP CD is in the drive, DO NOT press any keys, let setup bypass the CD boot Windows will now begin to load. On some occasions Windows will be finished the repair, if so it will go straight to Part Which is the part where you arrive at the desktop, otherwise the install will continue f) The repair process continues and Windows will continue installing. Windows setup will now finalize. It is now time to restart Windows XP again. Boot will recognize that the XP CD is in the drive, DO NOT press any keys, let setup bypass the CD boot. Windows will continue loading: -Windows will now adjust your resolution, click "OK" to continue -Windows will now apply changes...wait -Windows "WELCOME" screen -and finally the Windows XP Desktop. Windows is now installed As you have repaired Windows, there should be no drivers to install. Your files should be safe, but you should always check out device manager for unknown devices, likely items are Network Cards, Sound Cards, Printers, Scanners, Graphics Cards, Digital Cameras, plus any other item you have If you have an windows OEM go here: http://www.oem.windowsreinstall.com/ 6) If nothing above fix the problem...so need a clean instalation (you lost all the data)
