    Driver of your videocard

    Fix problem with your videocard

If you have a problem with the driver of your videocard, download de last driver e install :

    1) Locate the video adapter in Normal mode: go to start/setting/control panel/system/hardware/device manager/Click the PLUS SIGN to expand Display Adapters/Double-click the video adapter driver/On the driver tab choose the action that you want to perform:

    Driver Details

    Update Driver
    Roll Back Driver
    Uninstall

In Safe mode, the computer does not start the video adapter driver that is used during normal operations, so you need to use Device Manager to discover, update, roll back, or uninstall the video driver instead of accessing the Display properties.
    2) If you can't start the computer, try to start in safe mode (reset and press F8 many times/choosee safe mode). In Safe mode, your video adapter resolution and colors may temporarily change in such a way that the windows and icons on your screen become very large, which may make it difficult for some windows to fit. This behavior is dependent on the type of video adapter that you are using (The VgaSave service should not be stopped while the computer is in Safe mode because it is a component that allows Windows to display the screen)

How to Know which Video Driver Is Loading in Windows XP:

    start/run/regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\hardware\DeviceMap\Video

    the value may be: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\videodriver\Device0

double-click the InstalledDisplayDrivers value. The setting shows the driver that was loaded. (If the setting shows another registry location, a third-party driver may be being loaded when Windows starts, so you need start/run/msconfig/uncheck all in the start tab)
